Confidence is built one frame at a time
In August of 2025, I had the joy of photographing Lily in my Metro Detroit studio. This was our second time working together and it was incredible to see her growth. She is an aspiring fashion and runway model, and her energy and focus made this session a wonderful experience.
We started simple, with Lily wearing a white tank and black shorts. Half of the session explored the timeless style of black and white portraits while the other half used a sleek black background with clean, bright studio lighting. These choices created a strong mix of classic looks and bold fashion-inspired images, the kind that stand out in a modeling portfolio.
One of the most powerful tools we used during this shoot was an expression board. It gave Lily the opportunity to practice a range of faces and emotions. At first it took a little time to bring out her full variety of expressions, but once she relaxed into the process, her personality truly came forward. The expression board portraits added depth and energy to her collection, making them perfect for any aspiring model looking to enhance a portfolio.
